Terms & Conditions
Please read carefully before starting lessons. These terms are designed to keep lessons safe, professional, respectful and fair for everybody involved. By booking lessons with ACG Driving School, you agree to these terms regarding lesson bookings, payments, cancellations, driving tests, vehicle use and professional conduct.

The short version
At least 24 hours notice is required for pupil cancellations or rearrangements.
A valid UK licence must be shown and the legal eyesight standard must be met.
Lessons finish at the originally agreed end time if a pupil arrives late.
Use of the tuition vehicle for test is at the instructor’s discretion.
Lessons must remain safe, professional and respectful at all times.
In detail
1. Lesson Fees
- Lesson fees are set out on the ACG Driving School website or provided directly by ACG Driving School. Prices are subject to change, but any existing paid lessons or block bookings will be honoured at the price paid.
- Payments can be made by bank transfer or online through www.acgdrivingschool.co.uk. Cash can be accepted but in advance only.
- Payment is expected on the same day a lesson booking is arranged, unless otherwise agreed by ACG Driving School. Failure to make payment when requested may result in future bookings being declined.
- Where paying by cash, pupils may pay during their current lesson to secure a future lesson. If that future lesson is cancelled late or missed in line with these terms, the payment will be retained by ACG Driving School.
- Lessons are only secured once payment has been received.
- Block bookings are non-refundable.
- Introductory offers are available for complete beginners and cannot be repeated.
- Lessons purchased cannot be transferred to another person.
- Any outstanding balance must be paid before further lessons or use of the tuition vehicle for a driving test.
2. Lesson Appointments
- Lessons are subject to instructor availability and must be agreed in advance.
- Pupils must hold a valid UK provisional or full driving licence and must present it before or during the first lesson and whenever requested by ACG Driving School.
- Pupils must meet the legal eyesight requirements for driving (reading a vehicle registration plate from 20 metres).
- If glasses or contact lenses are needed to meet the legal eyesight standard, they must be worn for every lesson and driving test. If a pupil cannot meet the legal eyesight standard, the lesson cannot to go ahead and you will still be charged.
- Pickup and drop-off locations should be agreed when booking your lessons. Locations outside the normal working area may not be accepted.
- Travel time to quieter, safer or suitable practice areas forms part of the booked lesson time.
- In some circumstances, the instructor may need to rearrange a lesson due to unforeseen circumstances.
- If a pupil fails to attend within 15 minutes of the agreed start time, your instructor can leave and the lesson will be charged in full regardless of the length of the lesson.
- If a pupil arrives late, the lesson will finish at the original agreed end time and may result in future bookings being declined if this is repeated. This is at the instructors discretion.
3. Cancellations
- A minimum of 24 hours notice is required for pupil cancellations or rearrangement requests.
- Late cancellations or missed lessons may result in the full lesson fee being charged.
- Repeated missed lessons, late cancellations or poor attendance may result in future bookings being declined.
4. Driving Tests
- Please check proposed test dates and times with your instructor before booking a practical driving test.
- Use of the tuition vehicle for a driving test is entirely at the instructor’s discretion.
- Booking the tuition vehicle for a practical driving test costs £115 weekdays and £130 for weekends and Bank holidays. This includes pre-test warm up lesson 1 hour before the test, use of the instructors car for the practical test, time at the test centre and the return journey afterwards. The instructor will drive you back to the agreed location whether you pass or fail for safety reasons.
- The test package is only available to pupils that have been learning with ACG Driving School.
- Correct documents must be brought on the day of the test, including a valid provisional driving licence.
- ACG Driving School reserves the right to refuse use of the tuition vehicle if driving standards are considered unsafe or test readiness has not been maintained.
- The pupil is responsible for DVSA test bookings, cancellations, documents and any DVSA fees unless specifically agreed otherwise.
5. Use Of Car For Tests
- Lessons or tests can be refused if fees remain unpaid.
- Lessons or tests can be refused if a pupil appears to be under the influence of alcohol, drugs, medication affecting driving, or is otherwise unfit to drive safely.
- If driving ability declines significantly due to missed lessons or lack of practice, the instructor can refuse use of the tuition vehicle for the test.
- A final assessment lesson before the test may be required before vehicle use is confirmed.
6. Mobile phones, Personal Hygiene & Respect
- Pupils are expected to attend lessons in a clean and suitable condition for driving, including maintaining reasonable personal hygiene and avoiding strong odours such as body odour, excessive perfume or aftershave, smoke smells, strong food odours and be free from pet hair. The pupil may be asked to change clothing before continuing and will form part of the booked lesson time.
- Food, strong smelling drinks, smoking and vaping are not permitted inside the tuition vehicle.
- Any excessive mess or damage caused inside the vehicle may result in cleaning or repair charges.
- ACG Driving School promotes a respectful, professional and safe learning environment at all times.
- Abusive behaviour, aggression, discrimination, harassment or inappropriate conduct will not be tolerated.
- Mobile phones should only be used during lessons when instructed or when the vehicle is safely parked.
- ACG Driving School reserves the right to end a lesson immediately if behaviour is considered unsafe, abusive, threatening, discriminatory or inappropriate.
